Astute Simplicity Health has been deeply moved by the bushfires unfolding in Australia and as a result will assist those members who have been directly impacted by offering relief options to assist in their health journey.

Those members who qualify for the Australian Government’s Disaster Recovery Payment will be eligible to receive an ex-gratia payment of premiums for three months from January 1, 2020.

Astute Simplicity Health will also waive the hospital excess for procedures for those who qualify for the Disaster Recovery Payment for the same three-month duration.

These options would be available to members until July 1, 2020.

“Our focus is on assisting our members who have been affected by these fires and providing them with peace of mind during this time,” St.LukesHealth (Astute Simplicity Health’s underwriter) CEO Paul Lupo said.

“We understand during this time that affordability will be a larger than normal concern for our members and because of this we want to assist our members to get back on their feet.

“Our hearts go out to all those Australians who have been impacted – from those who have lost homes and family members through to our firefighters, doctors and nurses.”

Those who are impacted by the fires but are not eligible for the Disaster Recovery Payment can apply for hardship with Astute Simplicity Health.
